The word means ‘to hold back or hold in’. To impede or block the natural and spontaneous expression of our Instincts, Traits, Energies, Desires or any aspect of our Creative Spirit, Self or Persona.
Inhibition can be Selective, when specific instinct, desire or motivation is being impeded or blocked. Inhibition is Selective when many aspects and processes of Persona are constrained within the Mind. Inhibition is widespread when the entire domain of Personality functions is impeded or deactivated from its natural ease of expression and Cognitive functions.
Mode of Inhibition can be by Suppression, Repression, Avoidance and Distractions. The domain of Inhibition of Persona could be Intellect, Mind or Body. The layer (Realm) of Inhibition could be at the Conscious, Subconscious or Unconscious parts of our Persona.
Causes of Inhibition could vary and be different for different persons. Cause can be similar sometimes, but impact and effect could be different in different Individuals.
Some of Common Causes are Fear, Anxiety, Guilt, Shame, Loss of Intent, Deficits in Confidence or Cognitive ASYNTHESIS.
Some Effects of Inhibitions is partial awareness of Inner Intelligence, reduced expression of Mind’s Potentials, incomplete sense of Self, blocks in Creative Instincts, diseases of Mind and Body.
